My Patio Garden in June

Since I’m really liking my little patio garden I thought I’d make it a regular feature, plus it’ll let me document my successes and failures as well as what the patio is like during different seasons.

For June…

I planted some sunflowers into the ground and a few into containers for my granddaughter. I also planted some forget-me-nots and some herbs.

I had to replant a load of the hubs into tubs I got from the $ store, they were just getting too big for their pots. Most everything is growing and blooming.

I tried to make a schmancy hanger for my “sun in a jar” lanterns but I needed a lot more practice before I attempted one with this much detail. Also, rather than hang my box planters I just nailed them to the fence… I planted a flower mix, some rainbow coleus, and some garlic chives. I suspect the “garlic chives” are just wild garlic.

We got patio furniture! They were under $20 and are between a lounger and a chair. They are perfect for watching the flowers bloom… my fuchsia is about ready to explode!

I tried the rose (bush?) back and started to water it daily and it seems to appropriate it. The hanging baskets are doing well and I planted some herbs in a few old mugs I had and some of the Terracotta pots I hung up.

I’ve got some plans to rearrange the patio and add more plants. Plus I have a few decorations to add and I want it to be more of an organized mess. So until next month!
