On November 7th, 2016 we’ve spent five years with this guy! All in all, he’s a pretty good guy to live with too. The occasional hairball, a lot of weird chatty cat (more like a chicken) noises, and sleeping where my feet should be are the worst things I can say about him. Oh, and he spends a lot of time hanging out on windowsills. Not that it’s a bad thing, it just hairs up the curtains and leaves a lot of snotty cat nose marks on the glass. I know, not exactly “bad kitty” things, just another one of those slightly annoying but normal things that people who live with cats can look forward too.
So, why a “Chanceiversary”? Well, we don’t really know how old he is, so instead of a birthday, we celebrate the day we made him a part of our family (although if I had to guess, I’d say he is somewhere between six and seven years old). And I say “celebrate” but I don’t mean that we wear special hats or throw a party for him. We just remember when we got him, how we got him. We think about how he makes our lives a little nicer and we give him a few extra treats and his favorite food for dinner (turkey and cheese).
