No beautiful patio garden this year. We still sit outside, we set up the table and chairs with the umbrella and swept up most of the leaves and debris that was covering the paved part of the patio. It’s still nice to be out in the warm sun with a drink but I didn’t bother with clearing what is around the potted plants, or dragging out the decorations, or making the hanging baskets, or any other seasonal plants. The perennials are in good shape and I am grateful for them. We didn’t make our usual trip to the nursery for what we normally get make the patio our summertime oasis so it’s nice that there are still some plants. I’m also glad we took the time to clear up because the cats are still enjoying their adventures outside. It makes them so happy to go out in the sun and drink water from the hose. The little weirdos. It’s also nice to sit out and look up at the stars at night when it’s cooler. Sometimes I wish I had gone to the effort but we were in full swing madness and we just weren’t leaving the house when we would have needed to. /sigh maybe next year? I hope so.
