April in my part of California has been a mixed bag of beautiful sunny days and crazy windy stormy days. Now, the first day of May is here and the day will be warm like summer. In fact, I’m not sure we’ll see another “Spring” day this year. Not that I am complaining. It’s just that I’ve just been in such a bad way these past six weeks or so that I’ve not got a chance to sort out my garden and now it seems a bit late for a “scratch” garden, which was what I wanted. I’m still not 100% even now. I somehow caught (my theory is from visiting doctors’ office) a shitty cold that has managed to hang on to me for nearly two weeks now. Seriously, I don’t understand why I keep getting sick. Was I just due? I haven’t been sick like this since forever! I just want to feel normal again.
Anyway, I have had a few good days these past few months. When the weather was nice we spent two afternoons at a pond near where we live. We had a picnic and did a little fishing. I got a sunburn both times, but it the scheme of things it seemed like the least of my worries and I enjoyed the days. We caught no fish by the way.
I also started walking a few miles a day after our evening meal. I managed to lose some holiday weight, which is like baby weight if the baby was made of holiday food that I ate too much of. The walking is really agreeing with me and has actually made me start to feel better. We walk on a nice path through a woodland type park. Nice fresh air and lovely scenery. It really is doing me a lot of good. I think once I’ve kicked this cold and find a way to deal with my ridiculous allergies, things will be pretty much back to normal.
I’ve kept up with my Deviantart submissions, and I recently invested in some better pencils which really has enhanced my enjoyment of this new hobby. You can click on the last flower in my social media garden if you’d like to check out my submissions for April.
I skipped the KAF Bakealong last month, but I’ll definitely be doing it this month. April’s recipe looks awesome! I’ve also got 3 of my own recipes posted as well as a nifty craft I’ve been wanting to share for some time now. Also, I intend to do my second garden post, but we’ll see how that goes.
I hope you enjoy my May posts!
