When I was growing up, my Uncle Vic used to throw these huge fabulous parties. So many foods, drinks, family, and hubbub, I loved it! This punch is one of the things I remember about the parties, the adults loved it and they drank a lot of it. I never saw so many people passed out drunk, and I used to be a bartender! When I was older (I swear I never drank it as a kid!), I got the recipe and found out why they loved it so much, because for such a simple recipe it tastes wonderful, and despite the volume of alcohol in it, it doesn’t taste strongly of it. It truly is a delicious and inexpensive party punch, but go easy on it. Don’t end up passed out on your lawn where kids can see you, they’ll never forget it!
Ingredients
- 1 Bottle of lemon-lime soda (2 liter)
- 1 Bottle of sparkling white wine (75 cl)
- 1 Bottle of Vodka (750 ml)
- 1 Can of frozen fruit punch concentrate, thawed (12 oz/355 ml)
- Ice and/or fresh fruit to serve (optional)
Instructions
- Chill the soda, wine, and vodka until very cold.
- Combine the soda, wine, vodka, and defrosted punch concentrate in a large punch bowl (or pitcher or drink dispenser) and gently but mix thoroughly.
- Add ice and/or fruit just before serving.
Makes Approximately 1 Gallon/4 Litres = Approximately 20 x 6 fl oz/180 ml servings
Notes
- I like to use Sprite, but my Uncle always used 7up.
- By sparkling wine, yes I mean “champagne”.
- My uncle always used Hawaiian Punch fruit concentrate, but I’ve tried it with others and it’s good too… though the Hawaiian Punch is the best overall flavor.
