February 2017

So, how about that January 2017? Special in a special isn’t the word for it kind of way huh? Ya, I don’t really want to talk about it either!

Anyway… February is basically Valentine overload everywhere you look. Well, unless you look next to the Valentine stuff, at the Easter stuff. But that is another rant for another post. Especially since I’m joining in on the kill you with love Valentine theme. I already did my romantic dessert last month (Dark Chocolate Raspberry Heart Brownies) and I’m doing some nice romantic dinner type recipes that may or may not be used to create a Valentine’s dinner. I’ve also got the KAF recipe for later this month. Which, by the way, looks fabulous and I can’t wait to give it a go! I’ve also got a few other posts in mind, but I’ll let those be a surprise.

Also, about the picture for this post and my daily drawings… Yes, I drew the Iris. Hopefully, you knew that was what it is supposed to be! I’ve restrained myself from doing any color drawings until the one for this post. I’m concentrating on simple black and white drawings for the Evey Day Drawing Challenge and hoping those will help me improve my skills as an artist.

I am proud to say that I did 31 drawings for the Evey Day Drawing Challenge. I only goofed up twice, in regards to timings that is. One evening I ran out of time and posted my picture a little after midnight, I also drew a picture and forgot to upload it so I did it the next day as soon as I realized it. Not too bad, I can live with a little tardiness. Especially since I did the drawings, which is the important part. Now, as far as the drawings themselves? Ha! Ok, I think they mostly look like hell and I tell myself I’m still learning. Because I am. There are a few I’m proud of and a few I’d rather no one knew it was me that drew them.

Day 2, Day 7 and day 11, are my favorites. Day 8, 9, and 31 are my least favorites. With Day 8’s jewelry challenge being the hardest of all of them so far. I don’t wear jewelry every day, in fact with the exception of my wedding ring I hardly ever wear jewelry. I do, however, own craptons of the stuff. Instead of picking something from my collection I choose to just draw the ring I had handy. I definitely intend to have another go at it, maybe a much bigger drawing as I think that size was a factor in highlights and shadows. I just could not seem to get my lines thin enough or the highlights to fit in the tiny lines. It was a learning experience and that is why I’m doing it so it’s a good thing, I guess. At least that’s what I’m telling myself, and you too apparently.

I hope you enjoy this month’s posts. Please comment if you do!
