Blogiversary / Birthday Post

Yes, I changed my site again. I got the redesign it bug, and this seemed like a good time for changes. I needed to change the header of my site, and I wanted to change the way the posts on the front page looked. I missed having the excerpt for the posts, and so many things have changed in the last year that made my site header seem out of date to me.

I have a different car, I started eating a lot more healthy, I lost a beloved pet, I narrowed my hobbies down to make them more manageable, and the chaos I wanted to represent with the old header has passed. I’m not saying my life is settled or calm, but it feels more grounded. I decided to use one of my favorite colors and my all time favorite flower. Simple, and calm. It’s just what I wanted.

So, another year, another blogiversary, and another birthday. The years are going by fast now. To fast! I used to plan for things well in advance and be totally prepared, but these days it seems like no matter how much I try to plan ahead. the thing I’m planning for sneaks up on me. The getting old time warp is a real pita! My posts have suffered because of this time warp, but also because I’m busy. Even though I do stuff I could blog, most of the time I just want to eat my dinner or not make the cake look photo worthy.

There are many days when I’m just plain tired. I want to veg in front of the TV or play WoW instead of painting or crafting. Don’t get me wrong, I still want to paint and craft and take photos of food, I just don’t have as much time to do it or as much energy. I mentioned in my first post of the year that I would be cutting back to just a few recipes and other posts per month. I didn’t mention in that post that I would probably still fall behind on them, but I am mentioning in this post that I will make a better effort!
