
If you have never had homemade lemonade you might be pleasantly surprised at just how good it is and how it tastes like nothing you could possibly make from a powder or buy in a bottle. It is extremely refreshing and looks beautiful in a glass pitcher with a few slices of fresh lemon.
Ingredients
- 2c/400g white sugar
- 2 quarts/2 liters of water
- 16oz/480ml cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (approx. 12 large lemons)
- Ice cubes & fresh lemon slices to serve (optional)
Instructions
- Whisk the sugar and 16oz/480ml of the water in a saucepan over high heat until the sugar is dissolved, remove from the heat and leave to cool completely.
- When the sugar water is cool, combine it with the lemon juice and the rest of the water in a large pitcher and stir.
- Refrigerate for several hours until cold and/or serve over ice.
- Garnish with lemon slices, if you like.
Makes approximately 12 servings
