I got some really beautiful blooms this year and loads of bees, hummingbirds, June bugs, and butterflies came to visit. As well as a lot of little birds enjoying the many bird feeders I put out this year. We’ve enjoyed sitting outside with and without the new umbrella, and the cats have enjoyed not only their daily 5 minutes of patio time (I let them explore when I water) but the wonderful wildlife shows that the birds/squirrels/insects put on for them. They seem to know that the cats are behind glass, so they taunt them. It’s actually really funny… to me anyway.
Nothing much new on this side of the patio, except my ivy is doing fantastic, it’s grown so long it touches the ground. It got tangled up in the plastic flowers so I had to move them around a little.
The plastic flowers we made are holding up really well in the heat, and haven’t faded or had their color come off when I water.
I love this little flower plant, and the way it looks next to the kitty on the beaded swing.
I had some tragedies on this side of the garden. I lost my plant with the little yellow flowers, my carnations gave up for no apparent reason, something ate my mint all the way to the stems, and shortly after this photo was taken spiders laid eggs (hundreds of eggs!) in my sage plant so I had to get rid of it. They (the spiders) also webbed the crap out of my oregano but it’s holding on.
I love the red/pink flowers on this new vine plant, it’s grown so much I’ll have to give it a little trellis to wrap around.
I put the basil where the yellow flower plant was, it’s doing too well and has grown about 3 feet tall!
I bought this little purple flowering plant to replace the yellow flowering one that died. I haven’t replaced my mint plant yet, I’m still hoping there is enough left for a comeback.
Everything in front of the window is very happy and thriving! Notice the little Halloween cat? I got him at the 99c store, he’s chilling in the bird bath until I’ve got a pumpkin for him to hang out with. I also got a few gnomes for the garden (pictured below), aren’t they cute! The cashier asked if we were decorating early for Halloween, silly man!
So, that’s it for this time. Just one more garden post to go for this year! I’ll be packing up my decorations and trying to protect my annuals at the end of October after the 4 of 4.
